The modern Chinese are hard, humourless and soul-less people. Years of dictatorship, censorship, control and hardship will do that to you, I suppose. There will come a tipping point at some point in the future, and democracy will be shoved out, probably in a violent way. The ultra rich and ultra-powerful will find it increasingly hard to hide their wealth from the peasants they exploit.
