The main difference between us is at line 4. "a say in the laws that affect them differently to other Aussies".
That is not what is proposed.
What is proposed is a say say in "matters affecting Aboriginals". This includes matters , like taxation and defence, which affect all Australians (Black, yellow or white).
More fundamentally, all Australians should be equal. There should be one law for all. The government should not treat us differently based on our race.
There is a great deal of sympathy for our fellow Australians living in poverty and alcoholism in remote areas. Not because of their race but because of their circumstance which they will overcome with time.
