Hey there @JoeGambler, I get what you're saying - if you are looking to fill a plate yeah you could go with the bulk buy for less, but DK would offer a far greater experience when you are out and about, which is the type of consumer they are targeting. If you are doing your grocery shopping, you are more exposed to what Coles have to offer. If you are clothes shopping you would probably pass a DK rather than walk into a Coles. And Krispy Kreme is in a whole other consumer market as you are not window shopping or grocery shopping. You are going out for the sole purpose of buying donuts or catching up with buddies.
Personally, I would prefer to go to a DK any day rather than get a bag of Coles donuts with the possible need to reheat them at home. And, true, depending on what time you pick them up will mean you may leave Coles with a fresh batch. DK sometimes ask if you want a fresh one, otherwise you can always ask.
