On Inside Business last Sunday , they discussed the purchase of Petrohawk by BHP ( Ivor Ries , Marcus Padley etc ). It seems that due to the plummeting gas price in the US , BHP may have paid twice what the current market value is for Petrohawk. Their opinion only of course.
Having said that , I agree that the potential reserves are still amazing and if BPT can exploit this , we'll all do very well.
It's worthwhile comparing reserve numbers to some of the offshore developments in WA and the NT. Given BPT's proximity to the existing infrastructure only further enhances their potential.
