However, on your initial point if a group of shareholders nominated Mike without an agreement/without his involvement, that still means he is an independent director.
And above all else, whether or not his title is effectively correct, it doesn't diminish what has been added to the company by his appointment and the removal of the previous INED Tom Murrell. WKT has cheap access to a resource sector leader with significant experience that any peer could only hope to have
