If NG was removed the already unfair tax system would be made more unfair. NG is nothing more than equal treatment of losses and gains - nothing more nothing less.
If you want to cut down speculation a change need to be made to revert CGT to the old indexation system - that way people are rewarded by holding their investment longer. Current system rewards speculation across all asset classes.
