what would it take?

    Hi All,

    Firstly let me get one thing clear, MSC is one of my favourite stocks on HC. Not because I hold, but because of the funny banter and comments that are posted, well done guys (and girls). I will also say that I no longer hold as I was burnt earlier on by some of the false promises management have made over the past year or so that I have been watching this stock. Thankfully to C9 (I owe you one) I got out a little higher than the current SP to save some respectability.

    Now that's out of the way, I just want to ask if we can all take the gloves off and do some subjective analysis on this stock as I am thinking (maybe stupidly) that the concept has some potential.

    My thinking is that if the carbon schemes get up globally and portland cement is scrapped, there appears some merit in going down the Kaocem path. So I have a few questions I would like some contributions on;

    1. What is the current manufacturing cost for Portland cement using lime?

    2. Lime is also a mined product which requires freight, what makes it cheaper to frieght than Kaolin?

    3. There has been comments made about the costs of Kaolin from Skardon being prohibitive, if they apply carbon charges on the Portland operations, at what price would the Skardon product become competitive?

    4. There was the comment that MSC had made their first $1.6M sale, but as appears normal with this management, there was no mention of the cost and what the profit would be. I know this will fall under the guise of commercial in confidence, though is there some chance that a profit might have been made on that sale?

    5. It appears that shareholders do not always hear all the truth from VA, how deeply rooted is he in MSC? Is he a major shareholder so can't be removed?

    6. What would it take to turn MSC around and have a saleable, competitive, commercial product?

    7. Assuming there is some chance that the technology can fly, is the debt such a load that the ship may sink anyway? It appears on last report that I could find, the shareholders only have a 14% stake in the company, the rest is debt.

    As I said at the start, this thing interests me and I think if the stars line up and someone can get the fundamentals straight, maybe she can fly? I would appreciate some of all of your thoughts. Mop.
