Consider how long it takes to get a Nuclear plant operating, years of planning, approvals, appeals etc, then you finally get to construction and its several more years before you're making power. It's a 10-15 yr pipeline to get a new powerplant built in Western Countries especially.
Now consider how long it will take for Thorium to become a proven technology, gain acceptance from government, and then the planning, approvals, appeals, construction happens...
How long do you think that will all take? I actually love the concept of Thorium, it should be our power of the future but you have to remember how long it takes things like this to gain traction, it will be decades before commercial thorium plants become a reality imo.
Uranium will continue until the middle part of this century at least.
