Actually, that baboon study is of relevance.
It is not generally acceptable to kill people with latent TB (in truth, I'm not really excited about killing baboons with latent TB either). However, it is the "gold standard" of confirmation.
It showed in this (smallish) study that QFT demonstrated 100% specificity. Unfortunately, the only way to show the sensitivity would have been to kill ALL the baboons.
