I agree about SMM--some nickel is alot better than none, especially since SMM lost face/time/money in their boardroom as a result of the landmark Axiom agreement with the landowners.

It maybe, that a JV is a little closer to home. Stephen Williams of Axiom is also on the board of Coffey International. http://www.coffey.asia/ While I do not know the details of Coffey, other than it has multi-national and multi-domain interests around the world, Coffey and Axiom may have alot of synergy. One person on both boards. Common interests. Maybe be way off base here, this is just a thought.
