Adam Goodes is one Australian who makes me proud to be Australian and I reject as un-Australian soem mof the appalling comments made on this thread and this forum to denigrate him.

Goodes had the guts to stand up to the rampant racism that has festered as Tony Abbott made grossly offensive comments about remote Aboriginal communities flagged for forced closure by Colin Barnett's controversial government - "lifestyle choices" indeed.

What's happening to Adam Goodes will remain an iconic stain on the record of Tony Abbott's socially destructive, divisive government.

Abbott's is the government which made massive cuts to the Aboriginal Affairs Budget after promising NO such thing. It's a government whose leader promised so much yet even failed to front at all in Year 1 at a remote Aboriginal community and who spent only 3 days of photo opportunities there in Year 2. It's a government which shirked the issue of a referendum to better recognise Aborigines in the Constitution and one which has achieved nothing on core issues such as Aboriginal deaths in custody. It's even waged propaganda wars against public broadcasters such as NITV.

As if that wasn't bad enough, Abbott's government seems hell bent on enabling mining companies to run rough shod over the land rights of Aborigines - why else would you forcibly close Aboriginal communities other than to break their connection with their Land?
