In reality the impairment is lost money. Yes its not recurring , but we paid it and its value is gone. So Im ok with slapping down the dividend to cover the loss. The test will be if the second half returns to normal dividends. Hopefully with no impairment the second half will return to a profit near last years second half and a dividend not to far from the June 2023 level. It was prudent to take it in the neck. But the market will hate it . 1/2 c x 2 , Suddenly ASH doesnt look like a good dividend play . If your confident the second half will get back to somewhere near normal than ASH is really really Cheap in my view.
