Even for well established companies the share price will fluctuate by big percentages over time.... so it is usually unwise to use all of your capital in a single purchase. The key to successful investing is a combination of making good choices and skillfully managing your money. My experience has taught me to 'average in' to a stock position [i.e several small purchases over time... and usually only when I am already in profit and the stock appears to be rising in price at the time]... no matter how compelling a stock looks, there is never any good reason to rush.
