Without a doubt forget the Merlot and go for the Wine Men of Gothan Shiraz 2008. Without beating my own drum, I have over 150 books on viticulture and oenology with many tasing notes from all over the world of all vintages.
This is a strong buy folks:
Wine Men Of Gotham Shiraz 2008 is a blend of fruit from the McLaren Vale, Langhorne Creek and the Fleurieu Peninsula. Select parcels of the wine were then barrel fermented and matured for 18 months in American Oak.
The nose is heady with loads of superb rich chocolate and savoury notes. The palate is rich and defined with rich flavours and great mouth feel. The palate progresses from chocolate, plums, spice, and toasty oak then to an elegant tannic finish. Lingering on for minutes.
Drink now and for the next 3 - 5 years
