It's common knowledge that solid state batteries are prone to cracking, and therefore not suitable for harsh and rugged environments.
That immediately rules out 4WDs, SUVs and dual cab utes that tradies love.
According to the RACV, in 2023 those vehicle classes made 78% of sales.

And what about minor crashes, and compromising the integrity of the battery assembly?

I'll get excited about EVs when vanadium batteries become viable and common place.
Either that or, and common sense prevails and we go hydrogen.

Heavy vehicles that traverse our large continent will never be battery powered.
Lets see how long Twiggy will persevere with his battery haul trucks.

In the meantime I'm happy to make money off the EV evangelists and their brain-dead followers via PLS.
Don't get me wrong, I hold PLS and want to make as much money as anyone else, I just can't cop all the one-sided BS surrounding EVs.
It always needs to be a balanced discussion however.

    And China...
US automakers are worried that China will decimate their industry because they control lithium and rare earths, which is being subsidised by a communist government.
This could put 100's of thousands of people out of work and will wreck their economy... which will ultimately affect us.

Anyone who buys a Chinese made EV is a grub in my book.
