NVX JDA partner LGES plant in Tennessee, opened in April this year and is scaling to 50GWh. That will produce enough batteries for 600000 EVs/year. This is a JV with GM, but in North America are also working on plants with Toyota, Stellantis, Honda, Hyundai, and have recently in Korea been developing 4680 cells for Tesla.
My point for a long time has been, this is only one Battery maker. + Panasonic, Samsung, Powerco etc.
The demand coming is clearly huge, and it has been well documented nearly all global anode being produced is from China. I can only see more global government pressure and pressure from within the industry coming to end this supply monopoly. Be that for security of supply, slave labor, environmental reasons or all of the above.
