I gave up getting haircuts over a decade ago. shaved my head for some years, then bought a clipper and give myself a No.1 every month (or so). this costs me only a few bob in electricity for the whole year.
productivity?.... its a complex measure. people can only work so much and little more efficiency due to labour. the rest of products growth is down to wages, but mostly businesses installing technology and displacing humans.
the rises in productivity below are artefacts due to economic conditions. suppressed wages growth from 2013, then the sharpest rise during covid when actual production fell sharply while the Govt was paying people sustenance wages instead of businesses paying hours worked by labour.
