I don’t like seeing anyone live in poverty, it’s not a nice place to be. I know people earning big money who are broke and people earning small amounts who have done very well in life. I think the problem goes further than government intervention like tax cuts, there is a real unbalance in how people are paid. I will end up about $1,000 a year better off, it will make no difference to my life whatsoever. The community has been screaming for some vital social infrastructure for decades and received no help from the Liberal candidate in our electorate for decades. I would much prefer my tax cut be spent providing that infrastructure. Note once the Liberals lost what was a safe seat for decades, they finally offered the money if their candidate won the election. The community said get lost.
