Looking at from the a "glass half full" perspective, all this volatility people are blaming large insto's for (see comments above re market manipulation), actually presents opportunities for those people attune enough to a companies real worth to swoop in and pick up quality stocks at bargain prices. If if wasn't for this so-called market manipulation, these sorts of golden opportunities wouldn't present themselves to the same degree. Take advantage of it I say and selectively accumulate. Just as markets don't keep going up forever, they don't keep falling either. Forget day trading in these markets and think longer term, it's so much easier to back a winner over the longer term.
Just a few thoughts that come to mind after reading this thread.
