Was just racking the brain a bit and remembered that a mine manager that I had 12 months ago told me of a feasibility study on a lot of this area in the late 70's he was in charge of. We never talked much about it but I wish that I had of picked his brains a bit for quality and resource estimate for the area.

But thinking about it now it would have been for draglines and rope shovels where as today excavators and trucks for the whole operation will shed a completely different light on feasable pit design and seam angles/floors as well as initial set up cost. Hence I'm guessing that gave the opportunity for company's like COK to get their hands on the lease area as there is no reason why the coal quality shouldn't be very saleable.

A mate of mine has a 30,000 acre property near here, might have to grab a couple of bottles of rum and drop in for a few days and get a look around.

Somewhere around the current price could end up being a very cheap entry if alls good.
