I don't think privatisation will do TLS any good as many have imagined. If TLS is privatised,
1. It would lose the present support and protection by the Government, such as the recent approval to allow TLS to raise line rental fees.
2. TLS will lose many Gvnt organizations as its clients, upon which TLS charges twice as much as other telephone companies.
3. TLS will gradually lose its status as a national icon of something owned by the people and supported by the people.
All these will harm TLS. The only good thing I can think of is that the Ziggy's salary will be increased - isn't this the reason why he is so keen to privatise it?
