All the EV producers give battery warrenties that specify acceptable capacity loss as a function of time and accumulative energy draw.
They need to get these things right.
graphite goes into the anode. power is stored in the anode. cell capacity loss is dependant on the graphite. capacity loss will make or break the product.
Anode performance also impacts range of vehicle and the cell cooling system needed in the battery pack. Liquid cooling is more effective, air cooling is lighter, cheaper and more economical.
energy density of the anode and thus cells also impacts size and weight of the entire battery pack.
