I will have to disagree with your theisis about Asians not being able to make good burgers.
For Brisbane (northsider) members, you can get consistently good burgers at the Chinese / Vietnamese (not sure which) fish and chip shop on Stafford Road, in that little strip of shops with the IGA near the Trouts Road intersection at Everton Park / Stafford Heights (they do good fish and chips as well).
Been going there for years, but the owners that were there for the past few years recently retired and handed the reins over to another Asian family....but the handover went on for a few weeks, and one or two staff have carried on, so they had a good chance to hone their cooking skills. from my perspective, quality hasn't dropped at all as a result of the change in ownership.
If you're in the area, give it a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
