could be statement of the bleeding obvious here, and may not be what you are pointing to...but a bit of profit taking can happen at any time surely even among institutionals? Again only my guess, but if they have multiple holdings surely they will sacrifice some to give the balance sheet a boost for an individual client, and buy back slowly if they think there is a long term story in there with the company. It makes no sense to people like us who buy once or twice only and sit on it.
Watching the market can send you a bit loopy. But we all do it...
