This was always Peter Mac's dream. I believe the article written is leaked news.............it sounds too realistic.
I dont have a lot of experience with news articles that have been completely wrong, so I really think there is going to be some %age of thruth to it.
The upside of RIO, are you kidding, they have a plant that is not getting enough ore in it now, the mine is ending, it is 400 or so metres deep. It is only 5 odd kms from our Rossing South, have you seen how far they cart ore in Kalgoorlie... I believe the plant was upgraded in the last few years so it is READY to take our ore. Why sell the baby when you have only found one third. This is a 15km strike zone and they have drilled out 6. The last update has been hitting NEW anomolies. Have you looked at middle dome!!!!
It would have to be brilliant the deal for Hohnen to go for it, remember the merging of ext/kah was canned because it was too easy for RIO to make a hostile move on it and they refused to sign a stay. They need to stich up a deal less someone steals it away from them. Rio need this ore.
I guess I just hope the document is correct. Lets see, didnt EXT put out an update stating the plant was going to cost over a billion dollars!!! Have you ever seen how long it takes to build one, what about Ravensthorpe Nickel, BHP owned it, took years to build and it didnt turn a profit 12 months down the track so they sold it for a huge loss.
Guys Peter was a smart man, I sure am hoping Hohnen has stiched up a good deal for ALL of us...............
