Looking at the possible KPO data centre deal with Crusoe AI (who have a 0.2 out of eventual 1.2GW project in Texas under construction), in Canada. Seems there is a dire need for power sources. Not sure if there are any regions in Australia where there is excess gas near skilled people, and CCS for the same to happen in Australia? Well not sure how close you need to be to CCS locations - some in Gippsland and the Otways, and 1000 km West of Brisbane.

Anyway - what is also interesting is that Crusoe say, in the interview below, that there is no need for certain data centres to be tier 4 (obviously on demand DCs need to be). That might actually be helpful for (NXT's) tier 3 data centres, and older ones, and could even allow for utilisation of the solar peak every day in Australia (and wind peaks) at some stage. Will be interesting to see where we go. Australia has volatile energy supplies obviously. This idea seems extremely well suited to Australia - maybe more so than anywhere else including Canada. Might be well suited to DUG as well.

    FYI
Data Center Tier Rating Breakdown: Tier 1, 2, 3, 4

    • Tier 1: A Tier 1 data center has a single path for power and cooling and few, if any, redundant and backup components. It has an expected uptime of 99.671% (28.8 hours of downtime annually).
    • Tier 2: A Tier 2 data center has a single path for power and cooling and some redundant and backup components. It has an expected uptime of 99.741% (22 hours of downtime annually).
    • Tier 3: A Tier 3 data center has multiple paths for power and cooling and systems in place to update and maintain it without taking it offline. It has an expected uptime of 99.982% (1.6 hours of downtime annually).
    • Tier 4: A Tier 4 data center is built to be completely fault-tolerant and has redundancy for every component. It has an expected uptime of 99.995% (26.3 minutes of downtime annually).
