It was also the right thing to do for the current fiscal position. Spreading it more evenly is a no brainer during a cost of living challenge.
People needed some relief and it's happening for all tax payers, not just the select few.
On the radio this arvo there was a whinging rightie who phoned in and had a sook about the cuts, it brought a tear to my eye. The bloke was in I.T, pulling well over 200k P/A , and saying how losing the 60 bucks a week would tip him over the edge. Then he said his wife doesn't work, he has an enormous mortgage, and 4 kids, he also pays maintenance to an ex who has another 2 kids of his. FFS when will people take responsibilty for their dumb arse choices. This bloke expects the Govt to bail him out of a fix which was all his own doing. Typical conservative who wants it all but doesn't allow it for others.
