It wouldn't surprise me if it was planned before the election . I don't think I've heard any economists being critical of it? Only the usual yapping from the right wing mob. I know Chalmers was never a fan of them, so maybe his position convinced them. Or as you say maybe it was the plan all along....such is politics. A very prudent move, and again the Libs stupidly charge in with their bellowing which will be another shot in the foot.
