You are correct Whitelight-they are ignoring the deadset important questions your post posed.
In case HC posters/readers missed the point, given the very strong indications that well/s in this area will almost certainly find a bucket of gas - where will it be marketed?
Given the availability of natural gas into the Eastern Seaboard it's a fair bet that any gas will end up in a bulk carrier intended for China.
Next question; where will the treatment plant be? The NIMBY crowd will all have their two cents worth which may just make this a 'no go'.
