To anyone who pays attention to my posts they'd know my fianceé is American and trapped in that hell-hole so I'm hoping for a rapid roll out but I'm losing more and more hope each day.
The astra vaccine was due to finish stage three in October but it and others were delayed due to (false?) safety concerns and we've yet to hear any solid result of efficacy from any of the others apart from "increased immune response".
I was kinda hoping at this point one of the more shady countries would fast track a vaccine by testing it on their people and we'd be rocking one of those by now.
Most indications are for a twelve month roll-out but I think a lot of that is dependent on what type of vaccine we end up with and if we've started producing before greenlight, if it turns out we can't nail a protein based one we may need huge investments in technology to scale production.
I'm kinda surprised at this point we haven't found an effective rapid test, I feel like that should be right around the corner but I'm not hearing any news and who knows what sort of trials and legal hoops we'll have to have to get it in use.
