Found another article which while well meaning and good in its own right still does not understand or mention the separation of powers between what needs to be a rolled gold guarantee if the company is to fulfill their basic financial fundamental metrics.
' For Wide Open Agriculture, it will greatly assist us in reporting our Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) requirements to stakeholders, investors & customers'

    1) Sales, revenue and earnings all need a solid foundation and half of the earnings needs to be earmarked for dividends before any other financial activity is entertained. Earnings per share has to cover dividend by a factor of two times.
    2) Net tangible assets per share needs to be at or around current market price and adjusted as necessary to stay in that ballpark.
    3) Ensure debt to equity is around 1 to 1.5
    4) Once those metrics have been fulfilled then the other half of earnings is used to grow the company.
Once the company gets the basics right then everyone gains, Farmers can buy WOA for off farm income, Shareholders generally will then be able to benefit from not only the dividend payments but possible dividend reninvestment plans, share buybacks etc Also it will allow the company itself to use dividend income from other companies to diversify from what currently is a very narrow lupin focus and become a more solid and balanced company in the future. Disregarding dividends in your own company is not going to allow directors to see the benefits to be had from dividend income from other companies within its own sector.
    5) Also work needs to be done to ensure the Enterprise value is typical of the food sector average. For a company to have the solid enterprise value it had in the past few years and not get the basic financials right needs to be corrected ASAP.
