Newland, with reference to your last sentence:-

I believe that Statoil are definitely in for the long haul and most fortunately, they control the purse strings..

I would prefer that PFC "vacate the premises",voluntarily, via a buyout from Heritage. Heritage, currently control a fraction under 20% of PFC and could easily move to take control. Also an oil patch operator, albeit,(unlike PFC),a very successful one!..
A partnership between Heritage and Statoil would be one of oil patch experience on both sides, plus both identities are well managed and cashed up!

That would leave BKP in an enviable position with TWO experienced, cashed up,oil patch operators as partners.

I would doubt that either Statoil or Heritage would be interested in taking over BKP as the suggested partnership would go a long way to preserving the "Australian Flavour" of the operaion, plus mitigating any possible cries of "foreigners taking Aussie assets out of the country"

Those are my thoughts on the subject, for what they are worth!
