my gut feel on this is a bit left of field.

i think that the big end of town is still worried about the massive selloff by Grist and Spencely.

also, the TPG debacle didn't help confidence.
now you have rumors about the impact of the NBN and alas- you have the perfect storm.
ps- note that no analyst actually says how this will impact future business as they are just gossip merchants after sensationalism to make a quick buck.

in other words- VOC has growth potential far greater than other telcos and cost synergies are just further icing on the cake.
