Generally, Soros isn't trying to topple the government either. Two other orgs noted in the original article are NED and NDI. Both funded by the US Congress. Soros promotes open societies and has assisted communist countries in the transition to capitalism. He promotes liberal causes.
He has triggered currency devaluations, but didn't cause the conditions for the devaluation.
None of the NGOs Soros supports are SMSL. Najib is negotiating the pathway to an open society but has some die hard old guard politicos who won't retire. So he has the tigfer by the tail.
An ex PM that threw journalists and the opposition into prison at will, and some just disappeared points his finger at Soros. Why not go after the US?
