fair enough dub
but where have you heard that a hurricane can pick up the oil with the water from the ocean and dump it as rain 100s of kms away?
I'm no scientist but I can't ever imagine clouds / and or any other kind of weather system holding oil.
also -someone mentioned acid rain - acid rain only occurs when there is burning of fossil fuels - so the only acid rain america would get would be the burning of any oil on the sea
I'm not sure how much oil they are currently burning in the gulf to control the spill-i doubt it would be enough to cause acid rain- what you need is thousands of factories and cars burning fossil fuels
-you certainly can't get acid rain from water containing oil particles -and anyway i think it's impossible for rain to contain oil particles anyway - as they say oil and water don't mix.
