I once read a book written by Billy Connolly. In it, he told a true story about an elderly worker in a boilermaking business. The gentleman wasn't far from retirement. One of his jobs was to empty a wheelbarrow when it became full of scrap metal. Unbeknown to this poor gentleman, the boilermakers welded the wheelbarrow to the floor, and filled it up to practically overflowing with bits and pieces of scrap metal. The man came up to the barrow, and attempted to lift it. Of course he couldn't. Thinking it was far too heavy for him, he took a few pieces of metal out of the wheelbarrow, and attempted to lift it again. Of course, he still couldn't lift it. So he took a few more pieces out, and re-attempted the lift. This went on for some time, until the poor bugger got down to just a couple of pieces of scrap metal. The boilermakers were in hysterics by now, and then the penny dropped!
