This huge slide looks bad and is bad. But ATH has been even worse off during these 20 years. Now PBT2 is "for sale" and it has a lot of value to antibiotic manufacturers at least IMO. It may be that the right buyer will be found in months, not in years. For the first time, ATH has something to sell and IMO to get big money for years. This kind of deal will change a lot.

Then ATH has ATH434 and phase 2 will start most likely in 6-7 months for MSA and if successful ATH434 will get to the market. Phase 2 will be a multicenter study done in several different countries and this selection is happening right now.

MSA and PD are related diseases and iron accumulation is typical to both. For PD ATH 434 needs ph2 and ph3. It is now starting a primate study ( most likely the study has already started) to demonstrate how ATH434 works in that kind of animal model resembling the human symptoms of PD much closer than the mouse models. A new imaging method that is sensitive enough to find prodromal PD cases may be tested in the primate study coordinated by Flinkelstein, who published this method in Oct 2020 with Bush et al. This could help to demonstrate if ATH434 can save neurons in the early face of the disease. Normally the PD symptoms start only after some 50% of the neurons are dead

So this year is a very interesting year in ATH and in fact full of possibilities and hope supported by a lot of research and plans for the future. This downtrend is most likely related to the general trend on the market but not clearly anything directly related to the company itself. Of course, ATH is in a very risky business as are all the investors of ATH. But what I can see, this year and 2022 will be much better than any of the past 20 years, at least this year has possibilities for that.
