Hi rogerdat, underground coal gasification ucg implores a method of igniting the coal underground and the by product syngas is produced that travels to ucg gas plant on the surface, because the syngas is produced under the gruond by a natural process there is less refining structures required on the surface.

The main problem is as with all these projects is geographic placement to market, ESG suffers from similiar sequentials, tonnes of proved gas yet it's location to market makes it's supply to market situation a problematic production.

Also it is a relatively new process to Australia and it will take time.
