Yes Grayza, the average price achieved during the Aurora 10 year life is a bit hard to determine. They did enjoy a good ride with highs of US$145 and lows of US$90's plus a premium at times I believe for the oil quality. Perhaps averaging more like US$110 ish. This allowed them greater cost flexibility regarding capital outlay per well.
In answer to your question about the basis of my knowledge. I predominantly come from an economics and commerce background. I by no means suggest I am an authority on this subject however I do also come from a 30 year direct oil industry background. I was an original Aurora Oil and Gas and Australis Oil and Gas investor. I have studied the process's of fracking and followed every move of both these companies closely. I am very interested in this industry and have had a lot of exposure with investments in Russian Oil (Luk Oil, Rosneft, Gazprom etc) in the past and companies like Hess Corp. You can't follow all of them but I believe that you should hone in on a few and try to understand them well. From an Australian perspective I follow Woodside Petroleum closely.
Australis is very, very different to these heavy weights.
In saying that I agree entirely that at around 3-4 cents they are worth a punt and can warrant representation as a modest portion of any balanced portfolio. I think their share price can bounce easily not so much from any internal activity in the short term but more so from the onset of world events effecting the oil price from a positive perspective.
