This is a bit off topic but I doubt MSFT will launch its own low code SAAS intranet portal software for large enterprises. They put too much value on their partner channel to risk tens of billions of dollars of sales for a $1 billion product.

Steve Balmer got a lot of criticism because under his leadership , MSFT appeared to be late to the transition to mobile devices but he fails to get the due credit for building MSFT's most competitive advantage in enterprise software......namely the most powerful reseller and partner network in the world. A great deal of MSFT's success and dominance in enterprise software is due to their dominant network of partners and resellers. There is no other like it and MSFT nurtures it like a mother bear nurtures its cubs.See this link:

There are very few salesmen at MSFT. Most of their sales go through partners. The brilliance of the MSFT business model is that they provide the components, tools and platform that systems engineers / IT solutions providers use to design solutions for their customers. The partners are closer to their customers than MSFT can ever hope to be. MSFT is very careful to avoid undermining the value added that the partners add to the customer.

To a greater or lesser extent, the SAAS low code intranet providers such as LiveTiles, Unily, Wizdom Akumina etc (and others) are dis-intermediating part of the role of system integrator and the partners who build custom intranets. MSFT does not want to get into that battle. They want to provide the components for whoever builds the intranet for the customer , whether it is a custom build or a low code build.. Above all, they do not want to appear to cannibalize their own partner channel. Customers will always want a choice in this space and MSFT dont want to provide an in house, one size fits all User Interface and drive Unily LiveTiles etc into the welcoming arms of AWS.

Would MSFT buy a product like Hyperfish to add it to a list of tools for Partners? Possibly.....but its currently a tiny product and needs to prove itself before MSFT spends any time looking at the TAM
