It is a truly wasted opportunity if they do not. 5000m is target depth for full production. Investors will want to see data and rig performance at that level.
With 244C at 4220m (gradient of roughly 58C/km, with a production temperature that should equalise around 220C), a target temperature of 290C could be expected at 5000m. If production equilibrium occurs at roughly 270C after sustained circulation, the increase in thermal efficiency would approach 50%.
Well worth proving up in the early stages.
