As the charts show, the market has changed significantly over the last 10-20 years . To the point where the regulations have been changed to allow the baseload generators to run at lower outputs to keep them online.
Now baseload has to ramp up and down several times a day as opposed to when they used to run at a pretty constant output 20 years ago. Less output per day means less profit as the operation costs remain the same .
ln other words, renewables are slowly sending baseload coal broke today.
lt is hilarious to see the Dud's baseload nuclear plan for a couple of decades into the future . No wonder they refuse to release the business case .
