kiwi "Do we need more gas?" This is part of the situation IMO. The NZ government, bless their cotton socks, has a moratorium on gas power stations for as long as they govern - actually longer than some of us hope for the likes of killer Cullen. So the answer is clearly NO!
At least thats the way the Labourites and Greenies see it. I am all for wind power (in other peoples back yards) but it requires efficient transmission and gas peak load generation - a new government will see some sense in a transmission period towards greener electricity...
On the bright side the gas at Kupe and Momoho seems to be very wet and the money is in the condensate.
