The information on the originally announced $900m bridge financing was pretty clear on prohibiting dividends while outstanding, despite the WHC statement on continuing to pay a dividend from existing operations. That prohibition appeared to apply to all operations not just the acquisition assets. I guess we will have to wait until February to see what is announced regarding a dividend on H1 operations. At best I would expect any dividend is likely to be scaled back to only 20% of NPAT to maximize available cash for the deal closing.
