    Interesting article. It does the raise the issue of population. What would be better about our world if we have another 2 billion people right now? Nothing I suspect. Yet, we have Labor and Coalition politicians supporting a "Big Australia". IMO that means big pollution, big housing crisis, big traffic jams etc. The economic problems in Japan are no doubt exacerbated by an ageing and declining population, however for humans to have a decent future on the earth that is the way to go. Either we do it ourselves by education, free contraception and ignoring the pope and other organised religion or nature will do it for us via peak oil, food crisis, starvation, war disease.
