Been married 40 years. First house we bought cost us $10 000 and we put down $5000 deposit. Current house is worth about $750 000.
Son got married 15 years ago. First house he bought was worth $500 000 and has a mortgage of $500 000. Also has a better car than me and a $50 000 boat that gets taken out once or twice a year. Can't afford the petrol!!
