There is nothing stopping one being announced Every confirmed deal BRN has made has been with a small company or obscure university. If they signed a deal with someone important they'd probably be shouting from the rooftops.
4. One to two years is perfectly normal (in fact it is often far longer) to go from prototype to a production chip. There are nearly always serious problems and delays.
