The short answer is that new technologies become viable when the existing ones become obsolete and/or uneconomical. But it takes time and, in the meantime, we may have an opportunity to capitalise on silver demand. And this demand should be for at least two broad reasons IMHO: silver as a commodity and as a wealth preservation mechanism during turbulent times.
