The company has taken measures to mitigate that very same risk. Namely partnering up with Win Myint Mo industries a subsidiary of National Infrastructure Holdings, who are affiliated with one of the largest conglomerate in Myanmar, Asia World. The groups have vast influence over the rebel groups. One of the reasons WMM was given the production sharing agreement by the Burmese government in 2010 in the first place.

There hasn't been any security issues at the mine or at Namtu town as mentioned in a previous announcement. I believe the Burmese government is trying to root out the rebels from the jungle and as a result some violence spilling into towns. China will definitely pressure the rebel groups as well because the railway is vital for BRI to be successful. The risk here will not be the mine, but disruptions to the transport network once they start mining. However in saying this, I trust it will all work out once the government signs a new peace treaty with the rebels.
