Looks to me that the fighting is one town away from the mine... and the people getting shot are civilians/monks/people passing bye.
There's only one way to secure a mine project in an area...and that's with heavy army... or a peace treaty.
Until the Chinese proceed with the railway... this investment will stall. One single attack on a train would be a disaster. I'm not sure I believe in the 'river' transport theory or have faith in the Burmese army just yet. Reminds me of the Palestinians.
It's not well inside the front line ... it is the front line.
